The last day of Vegan MoFo is here! This has been a fun MoFo. I didn't think I was going to actually last all month when I first started, but here I am! Those of you who participated and blogged every single day including weekends - you are machines! You are awesome, impressive, blogging machines! I am feeling a bit under the weather today so this post is just going to be a recap of a few of my Halloweegan favorites of all time. It seems like I do one of these every year! Let's start with the savory!
Jack-O'-Lantern Bell Peppers. These were one of the original Halloweegan dinners of 2008. That was a special year because it was my first year blogging, it was my first year participating in Vegan MoFo, and it was the first Halloweegan! This often imitated guy could probably be the official Halloweegan mascot:
Meatless Meatloaf Scramble with Mashed Potato Ghosts. These were easy free-form ghosts shaped with a spoon!

A Mashed Potato Ghosts extravaganza! Because one can't have too many mashed potato ghosts. Right?
Nope. One cannot have too many of these guys. This Spooky Dinner post with a gingerbread man shaped meatless meatloaf and mashed potato ghosts comes with a step by step video!

My favorite savory Halloweegan food of all time is the Man-Eating Burger! This post also comes with a step by step video!
Let's have some dessert! Also one of my favorite Halloweegan treats of all time are these Leggy Whoopy Spiders! It also comes with a step by step video that shows how to make those pesky little chocolate legs.

These simple Cats and Bats Sandwich Cookies were so tasty! Shortbread has always been my favorite type of cookie! Meow!
More sandwich cookies! These Spiced Pumpkin Sandwich Cookies are easy to make and so tasty! I forgot all about them until I was looking up previous Halloweegan posts today - I think I'm going to need to make a batch later.

These Strawberries and Cream Ghosties are as simple as it gets! Don't ask me what I was thinking with that neon green background there...
A couple of weeks ago I made these Coconut Whipped Cream Ghosts along with a handy step by step video. You can also make them with buttercream!
That's it! I hope you've enjoyed this round up, and I hope you have a lovely and fun (and safe!) Halloween, if you're celebrating! See you next week! :)

I've loved every minute of MoFo - and your Hallowe'en dishes are totally amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joey! I'm glad you enjoyed MoFo too! It's a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! :)
DeleteI think the spider whoopie pies are my favorite! You have had all sorts of wonderful things this month though!
ReplyDeleteI actually intended to make the spiders again today, but I ran out of energy before I could finish them. There's always next year! :)
DeleteNo one can top your Halloweegan shenanigans, that's for sure. I could never pick a favorite, but I think I've been influenced by the gingerbread beet-burger guy. I'm going to make either lentil loaf or beet-burgers next time Ms. E comes for dinner, and make hers with cookie cutters. Perhaps she'll be amused enough to try one!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope she likes them! Fun food is so much better than regular food. I used to be a very picky eater, maybe that's why I like to play with my food so much?
Deletehappy halloween River! Happy end of mofo! You (and Curly) made it! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween to you too, Amey! We made it! We should get medals! :D
DeleteNothing beats the man-eating burger, nothing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloweegan! Hope you had as much fun doing up your posts as I did reading them :)
Happy Halloweegan! I had lots of fun, and I am so glad you enjoyed my posts! :)
Deletei love this round up! i can eat all of those mashed potato ghosts.. happy halloween to you too!
ReplyDeleteEat them all before they try to take your soul! :D
DeleteRiver!!!! I switched my feed reader a while ago and I didn't know you were posting again!! I am so happy and now I'm off to do some serious wing it catching up.
ReplyDeleteI just did a week of nothing but beet recipes, but those beet burgers are better than anything I posted. I must make them!
It's my fault for being such a fickle blogger! Man, those burgers are so awesome! I love them! Beets are so worthy of a whole week dedicated to them. I've been thinking about your purdy pink cookies lately - must be time to make them again! :)
DeleteYour Halloweegan posts were my favorite this month. I made the beet burgers (round shape - ho hum) and they were wonderful!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I heart Curly!
Thanks, Christina! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the Halloweegan fun! Aren't those beet burgers super tasty? I'm glad you liked them too!
DeleteCurly will definitely appear regularly on Wing It after MoFo! :D
Everything about this post is PERFECT. I'm just sad that I found it late. Def going to book mark it for next year :)
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm sorry you found it too late! Yep - there's always next year! :)
