Hi! I'm hibernating under my electric blanket whilst perpetually sipping hot tea. Wing It Vegan is on hiatus until I'm willing to come back out. Happy holidays!

FIQ (Frequently Imagined Questions)

These are mostly questions that nobody has ever asked me, but I wonder if you're wondering...

Why "wing it" vegan?
What's your diet like?
How long have you been vegan?
Why do you only blog for a few months each year?
Who is this Mr. Wing-It of whom you speak?
Where did you buy your Luke's mug?
Do you have a whole face or just a half?

Why "wing-it" vegan?
I like to play with food! I like to experiment in the kitchen even if whatever I'm making turns out to be a disaster. Recipes are nice, but winging it in the kitchen is such fun!

What's your diet like?
Vegan! This means no meats, dairy, eggs, or honey. I also try to stick to a somewhat lowish-fat, lowish-sugar, lowish-wheat, very low-soy, and generally lowish-junk diet. These days, in my mid 30's, I can't get away with eating whatever I want anymore without growing a big belly. There are some scary illnesses that run in my family too, so I need to at least try to avoid some of them. I do eat sugary cupcakes and white flour breads if I feel like it though. A day without chocolate is not a day worth living. Extreme deprivation is not for me!

How long have you been vegan?
Eleven years! Mr. Wing-It and I went vegan pretty much cold turkey in 2003. I tried fish a couple of times during the past decade but it didn't agree with me and I didn't like the fact that I was eating an animal that was killed for me. I don't regret doubting my values and choices though, because it only reinforced my certainty that this is the lifestyle I chose for myself.

Why do you only blog for a few months each year?
Mr. Wing-It and I have a travelling job, which means I simply cannot find the energy and time to blog from about February to September. I've tried, but I am only human!

Who is this Mr. Wing-It of whom you speak?
Mr. Wing-It is my marvelous husband and official taste-tester! He loves anything with anise and despises cooked spinach. He is funny and kind and he spoils me terribly!

Where did you get your Luke's mug?
This question is actually a frequently asked one. Mr. Wing-It bought my "Luke's" mug on ebay back in 2008 for Christmas, but unfortunately they're not making those anymore.

Do you have a whole face or just a half?
I do have a whole face, but I am not a big fan of exhibiting my face all over the internet. Just call me Captain Paranoia!
